A Scottish DJ and radio host has sadly passed away in Hong Kong at the age of 22, her family has confirmed.
Niamh Jobson, originally from Glasgow, died on Friday, January 17. Her devastated loved ones shared their “insurmountable pain,” describing her as a “hugely gifted, talented, intuitive, wise, fiercely clever, funny, sparkly, and stunningly beautiful legend of a girl.”
Born in Hong Kong, Niamh spent her early years on the Isle of Eigg, a small Scottish island with a population of just 100, before later moving to Glasgow, where she worked at the city’s renowned nightclub, Sub Club.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, her family wrote: “With the most insurmountable pain, we take this time and space to share the heartbreaking news that our hugely gifted, talented, intuitive, wise, fiercely clever, funny, sparkly, and stunningly beautiful legend of a girl, Niamh Jobson, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025, in Hong Kong, just a few miles from where she was born.
“Today (22nd) would have been her 23rd birthday. Wherever you are in the world, whatever you are doing, please join us in celebrating our much-loved Queen today. We will share further arrangements in the coming weeks. Thank you and much love to you all. Rest in Glory, our Queenie. We love you with all our hearts. Mumma, Dad, Finn & Betsy-Mae.”
Another tribute to the young DJ read: “Too pure and golden for this earth. I will miss your smile, your laugh, your voice, your lovely pure kind soul. My heart goes out to the Jobson family and every single person who knew our Niamhy.
