Michael McKenzie,Darla McKenzie Obituary, Death; – A couple from Roswell lost their lives in a shooting incident in Alabama, with their son-in-law now facing murder charges related to their deaths, as reported by law enforcement officials.
Michael McKenzie, aged 72, and Darla McKenzie, aged 68, were fatally shot while visiting their daughter and son-in-law in Alabama. The son-in-law, identified as Christopher Johnson, was reported by WBRC, the sister station of Atlanta News First in Birmingham.
Johnson, 38, has been charged with two counts of capital murder. According to the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office in Alabama, it is believed that an argument occurred prior to the shooting, although the motive remains unclear.
“This is an incredibly challenging time for the McKenzie family, and our thoughts are with them,” stated Etowah County Sheriff Jonathon Horton. “The loss of loved ones in such a tragic way is heartbreaking, and we extend our sincerest condolences to their family and friends. To the residents of Etowah County, I want to reassure you that we are dedicated to ensuring that justice is achieved, and there is no threat to your safety.”
Johnson is currently being held at the Etowah County Jail in Alabama. Etowah County is located just over two hours west of Atlanta.
