On the evening of February 12, 2025, Brooke E. Powell, 37, of LeRoy, Illinois, tragically died after a deadly vehicle accident. The crash happened about 20 miles southeast of Bloomington-Normal at 10:18 p.m. on U.S. Route 136 close to 2400 East Road.
Meeting Place Equine, a company devoted to equine-led holistic success, was co-founded by Brooke Powell. The community was greatly impacted by her love of horses and dedication to assisting people via equine-assisted programs. Everyone who knew her will be profoundly affected by the vacuum left by her unexpected death.
Authorities are still looking into the accident’s circumstances while the community grieves this terrible loss.
