In the early hours of February 14, Lamar T. Jenkins, 44, was tragically killed in a deadly high-speed chase that took place in Eufaula, Alabama. Around 4:19 a.m., the Eufaula Police Department noticed a car travelling carelessly along South Eufaula Avenue, headed south into Barbour County, and attempted a traffic stop.
According to officials, the driver, later identified as Lamar T. Jenkins, failed to stop, prompting officers to pursue the vehicle. As the vehicle neared a rest area, Jenkins abruptly changed direction, now heading northbound on the roadway. At this point, the Barbour County Sheriff’s Office took over the pursuit.
As the investigation continues, the authorities will work to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash and whether any charges will be filed. The community is urged to come forward with any information that may aid in the investigation.
