Jerolyn Wilson Obituary, Death; – A fatal incident occurred following a 50-car pileup in central North Carolina on Wednesday night, resulting in one death, as reported by the Orange Rural Fire Department.
The collisions took place around 6 p.m. on February 19 along Interstate 40, near the connector to Interstate 85 South in Alamance County.
As reported by our CBS affiliate WFMY, law enforcement officials indicated that the initial crash involved a tractor-trailer colliding with a passenger vehicle from behind, which led to the single fatality. This incident caused traffic to halt, resulting in at least three additional multi-vehicle collisions.
Several individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and the fire department noted that all westbound lanes remained closed for several hours during the cleanup process.
