His sudden departure has left an irreplaceable void in the lives of his loved ones, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Born on August 30, 1976, in Cleveland, Ohio, Tom was the son of Charles and Sharon Cammock. He grew up in Lakewood, Ohio, where he demonstrated an early passion for learning and sports. He graduated from Lakewood High School, where he formed lasting friendships, excelled academically, and cultivated a love for athletic activities. His pursuit of knowledge continued at Ohio Wesleyan University, a place that not only shaped his professional trajectory but also influenced his personal growth.
After completing his education, Tom embarked on a successful career at Buckeye Sales. His strong work ethic, leadership skills, and ability to connect with people quickly earned him a place of respect within the company. In 2017, Tom became the proud owner of Buckeye Sales, solidifying his commitment to business excellence and establishing himself as a trustworthy leader in his community.
Despite his professional achievements, Tom’s greatest pride was his family. He was a loving husband to his wife, Sarah (nee Duffy), and a dedicated father to their two young sons, Ben (10) and Charlie (8). Tom’s devotion to his children was evident in his involvement in their lives, from coaching their little league teams to nurturing their academic and personal development. His love for his family was boundless, and he made every effort to support and encourage his sons as they navigated life’s challenges.
Tom is survived by his parents, Charles and Sharon Cammock; his siblings, Ellen (Jay) Mrukowski and Alex (Sloane) Cammock; and his beloved nieces and nephews, Meredith, Claire, and Troy Mrukowski, and Andrew, Matthew, and James Cammock. Additionally, he leaves behind his parents-in-law, Joseph and Mary Sue Duffy, and his brother-in-law, Joshua Duffy. His devotion to family and his deep appreciation for his loved ones were cornerstones of his life.
Outside of his family and career, Tom was passionate about a wide array of interests. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time on the course with friends. A lifelong supporter of Cleveland’s sports teams, Tom was a devoted fan of the Browns, Guardians, and Cavaliers. His love for sports was matched only by his intellectual curiosity, as he was an avid reader with a vast knowledge of diverse subjects. Tom’s bright personality extended to his musical talent; he possessed a beautiful singing voice that added an extra layer of joy to family gatherings and social events.
Above all, Tom’s most remarkable quality was his kindness. He had an innate ability to make others feel valued and appreciated, often offering words of encouragement and a helping hand when needed. His infectious laugh and warm presence were a source of light to everyone who knew him. Tom’s generosity even extended to his passing, as he chose to be an organ donor, offering the gift of life to others.
Tom’s life will be celebrated by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. A visitation will be held at Berry-McGreevey-Martens Funeral Home in Westlake, Ohio, on Sunday, March 23, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A celebration of his life will follow at Avon Lake UCC on Monday, March 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. During these services, those who knew Tom will gather in remembrance, expressing gratitude for a life well-lived.
Though Tom is no longer with us, his legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of those who had the honor of knowing him. He will be missed deeply but will never be forgotten.
