Brenda Reid Henson, a cherished member of the Tell City, Indiana community, passed away unexpectedly on March 20, 2025, at the age of 58. Born on June 12, 1966, in Tell City, Brenda was the daughter of the late Robert and Margaret (Jones) Reid.
Brenda dedicated over 20 years of her life to serving as a cafeteria worker at William Tell Elementary School. Her warm smile and nurturing presence made her a favorite among students and staff alike. She took great pride in providing nutritious meals and creating a welcoming environment for the children, often going above and beyond to ensure every student felt cared for.
Beyond her work at the school, Brenda was an active participant in various community organizations. She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church, where she volunteered for numerous events and programs. Her commitment to service extended to the local food pantry, where she dedicated countless hours assisting those in need.
Brenda’s sudden passing has left a profound void in the hearts of her family, friends, and the entire Tell City community. She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Michael Henson; their two children, Sarah (David) Mitchell of Evansville, Indiana, and Brian (Emily) Henson of Louisville, Kentucky; and three grandchildren, whom she adored. She is also survived by her sister, Linda (Mark) Thompson of Tell City, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on March 25, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Huber Funeral Home in Tell City. A funeral service to celebrate Brenda’s life will take place on March 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church, with Pastor James Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the William Tell Elementary School cafeteria fund or the local food pantry, causes that were close to Brenda’s heart.
Brenda’s unwavering kindness, dedication, and love for her community will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
