SAUBLE BEACH, ONTARIO — The South Bruce Peninsula community is reeling from the sudden and tragic loss of 18-year-old Jayse Partington, who died following a single-vehicle crash near Hepworth early Friday morning, June 6, 2025. Jayse’s passing has sent shockwaves through the close-knit community, leaving behind a grieving family, a network of friends, and a town struggling to process the loss of a young life full of potential and promise.

According to Grey Bruce OPP, officers responded to the scene just after 3 a.m. on Spring Creek Road, located just west of Hepworth. The crash involved two individuals, one of whom was Jayse. The incident, which occurred in the early hours of the morning, left Jayse critically injured. He was rushed to the hospital but, tragically, succumbed to his injuries later that morning. A second individual, whose identity has not been released, sustained serious injuries and remains hospitalized.

In the aftermath of the crash, police confirmed that Spring Creek Road was closed between Legion Road and Allenford Road while the West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team conducted a thorough investigation into the cause of the collision. The closure of the road underscored the seriousness of the incident, as authorities worked diligently to determine what led to the crash. While details remain scarce, the authorities have issued an appeal for anyone with information about the accident to come forward. Those who may have witnessed the crash or have relevant information are urged to contact the Grey Bruce OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.cstip.ca.

The heartbreaking news of his passing has prompted an outpouring of grief from friends, neighbors, and local residents. The Lakeview Vendor Markets, a group Jayse’s family had long supported, posted a heartfelt message expressing their condolences. “All of our thoughts and prayers are going out to Shelley and Tracie Partington on the unimaginable loss of their son, Jayse,” the message read. “You’ve been huge supporters of us and this community, and now the community is wrapping its arms around you with love and healing hugs.
