With full hearts and solemn reverence, the Clovis, California community honors the life and memory of Papa G, who passed away following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease and complications from a stroke. His departure leaves behind an immense void in the lives of those who knew and loved him, especially his beloved wife, Mama Mae, with whom he shared a remarkable 56-year journey of love and devotion.
Papa G was a man of integrity, resilience, and boundless heart. As a Vietnam-era veteran living with a disability, he carried the weight of service with quiet dignity, never allowing adversity to define him. His life was built on sacrifice and purpose—whether in defense of his country, in support of his family, or in the everyday acts of kindness that became his legacy. He was a husband, a friend, a role model, and a cornerstone of strength.
Together, Papa G and Mama Mae built a home and a life rooted in love, laughter, and unwavering companionship. Their bond—unshaken by time or trials—serves as a guiding example of enduring love. As Mama Mae now learns to navigate life without her soulmate, she continues to honor the dreams they shared, including one of her heart’s wishes: to attend a live taping of The View in New York City, a dream Papa G supported wholeheartedly.
In tribute to his life, and in support of hers, the family welcomes donations to help fulfill Mama Mae’s wish, a gesture that not only brings comfort in mourning but uplifts a love story that continues to inspire. Every contribution is a tribute to Papa G’s legacy—a life of love, service, and dreams worth holding onto.
Though he has passed on, Papa G’s spirit remains unshakable—in the stories he leaves behind, in the strength he instilled in others, and in the dream that still awaits Mama Mae’s smile under New York City lights.
