It is with deep sorrow that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of a beloved colleague and friend, Jason Flanders, a dedicated member of the WestJet team. Jason’s unexpected departure has left our hearts heavy with grief, and we extend our deepest condolences to his family, loved ones, and everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him. His passing has created a profound void in our community, and we will forever cherish the memories of a truly remarkable person who made a lasting impact on everyone he encountered.

Jason was more than just a team member at WestJet—he was an integral part of the very fabric that binds our organization together. In every role he undertook, Jason exemplified what it means to be a true professional. His positive energy, infectious enthusiasm, and unwavering commitment to providing exceptional service were immediately apparent to anyone who had the opportunity to work with him. Whether he was assisting a guest, lending support to a coworker, or simply sharing a smile in the crew room, Jason brought warmth, reliability, and an unwavering sense of dedication to everything he did.

The loss of Jason is deeply felt across all levels of our organization, especially by those who had the privilege of working closely with him. We are reminded, in moments like these, just how strong the bonds are that connect us as a team. The relationships we build with one another go beyond the work we do; they are rooted in respect, trust, and the genuine care we show for one another as people. Jason embodied all of these qualities, and his absence has left a gap that is impossible to fill.

The tributes that have poured in from his colleagues are a testament to the impact Jason had on everyone he worked with. His kindness and generosity extended beyond the workplace—he was always willing to lend an ear, offer encouragement, and share a laugh during stressful moments. Jason’s ability to make others feel seen, valued, and appreciated was one of the many qualities that set him apart. He made our work environment a better place simply by being a part of it, and for that, we are deeply grateful.

We all had the privilege of learning from Jason—whether it was through his quiet excellence, his unwavering professionalism, or his unspoken ability to bring out the best in those around him. Jason didn’t seek recognition or accolades; he simply showed up every day with dedication and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others. His work was characterized by the kind of thoughtful attention to detail that reflects true commitment and pride in what one does.

Jason’s loss has left an undeniable sense of sadness in our hearts, but it has also prompted a sense of gratitude for the time we were fortunate to share with him. As we mourn his passing, we also reflect with appreciation on the legacy he leaves behind. Jason’s legacy is not just about the work he did, but the way he made people feel—respected, valued, and cared for. His kindness, humility, and consistent positive presence will continue to resonate with us long after his departure.

In times like this, we are reminded of the importance of the relationships we build and the impact we have on one another. Jason showed us all what it means to be part of something bigger than ourselves. He demonstrated that true success is not only measured by the tasks we accomplish but by the way we treat others, by the friendships we cultivate, and by the legacy we leave through our actions and words. Jason left an indelible mark on the WestJet family, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

As we reflect on the incredible contributions Jason made to our team and to our lives, we find comfort in the thought that he will always remain a part of the WestJet family. His spirit will continue to inspire us as we move forward, honoring the example he set with every interaction we have with one another and with every guest we serve. Jason’s dedication to kindness, respect, and excellence will serve as a lasting reminder of what it means to be a valued member of a community.

In this time of grief, we extend our deepest sympathy to Jason’s family and loved ones. We know that no words can fully capture the pain they are feeling, but we hope that the outpouring of love and support from all those who knew Jason can bring them some comfort in this difficult time. Jason’s memory will live on in the stories shared by his family, friends, and colleagues. We will continue to honor his life by carrying forward the lessons he taught us through his actions and the love he shared with everyone around him.

Rest in peace, Jason Flanders. You will always remain a cherished member of the WestJet family, and your legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing you. You will never be forgotten.
