Evelio Villarreal “Mr. V”Obituary: With utmost sadness we announce the passing of beloved and highly respected Texas A&M University Music Professor Evelio Villarreal also known as “Mr. V, who died following an emergency surgery. He was a very determined and highly focused individual who went on to pursue his career in teaching music and had a stellar career as band directorHe was the Bobcat and Ram Band Drum Major and graduated Central in 1973.
In addition to his extensive teaching career, Evelio was a valued Board Trustee and Education Committee Chair at the Premier Lone Star Wind Orchestra. To those who knew him, Evelio was much more than a teacher—he was a friend, a guide, and a source of strength. He brought joy to every room with his humor, kindness, and unforgettable personality. Whether you called him “Booger,” “Mr. V,” or simply friend, you knew you were in the presence of someone truly special.
His sudden passing is a huge loss to all who knew and loved him. As we mourn, we also celebrate a life well-lived—a life dedicated to music, education, and community. Evelio’s legacy will live on in every note played by his former students and every life he helped shape. Our deepest thoughts, prayers, and condolences go out to the Villarreal family, his friends, and all who mourn this great loss.
