Jonty Ryan  was a beloved student of Fordell School in Whanganui, New Zealand. Known for his bright smile and compassionate nature, Jonty was a cherished member of his school community. He was highly regarded for his caring attitude, leadership qualities, and his ability to make a positive difference in the lives of those around him.

Jonty was recognized for his quiet resilience and natural leadership. He was the type of person who helped others without seeking recognition, always willing to step in and lend a hand. His caring and inclusive nature was especially evident in his interactions with his younger sister Evie and the younger students at Fordell School. He was passionate about life, embracing outdoor activities, rugby, running, and enjoying nature—often found in the mud, relishing the simple joys of outdoor life.

Jonty’s dedication to his school and community was evident through his involvement with Tawa House, one of Fordell School’s houses. He was known for giving his best in everything he did, whether participating in sports, outdoor adventures, or school activities. His enthusiasm and commitment inspired those around him, and he was admired for his perseverance and positive attitude.

After his time at Fordell School, Jonty attended Feilding High School, where he continued to thrive. His family recalls how he flourished in his farming environment, demonstrating a strong connection to the land and rural life. His community and schoolmates at Fordell School remember him as someone who made things better simply by being there—a true embodiment of kindness and dedication.

It is with deep sadness that the community mourns the passing of Jonty Ryan Beach. His death was a devastating loss to his family—his parents Amy and Aaron, and his sister Evie—and to the wider community. Jonty’s passing has left a profound impact on those who knew him, and his memory is cherished by all.

Jonty’s legacy is one of caring, resilience, and leadership. His life exemplified what it means to be kind, to try your best, and to make a difference in others’ lives. The Fordell School community, along with his family and friends, continues to remember him as a shining light whose spirit will live on.

The community extends its heartfelt condolences to Amy, Aaron, Evie, and their wider family during this incredibly difficult time. The school and community have come together to support and honor Jonty’s memory, wrapping their arms around his family with aroha (love) and compassion.
