Paul Prosser (January 30, 1966 – August 3, 2025) was an American tree surgeon and dedicated family man, known for his unwavering love for his family and his contributions to the arboriculture industry. Born in Galion, Ohio, he passed away unexpectedly in Columbus, Ohio, surrounded by loved ones.
Paul was born to Helen and Paul Prosser in Galion, Ohio. He grew up in a close-knit family and developed a passion for working outdoors and caring for trees. A second-generation tree surgeon, Paul inherited his craft from his father and dedicated his life to the arboriculture profession. He was the co-founder of Prosser Tree, a local tree care business, and at the time of his passing, was working for Penn Line.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Conni Prosser, and their children: Paul (Brandy) Prosser, Josh (Mindy) Prosser, Chelsea Prosser, Mindy (Zack) Prosser, and Ryan (Echo) Schroeder. His grandchildren—Lanie, Braxton, Landyn, Kylie, Damarian, Destiny, Hayden, Jayce, Lucas, Gunner, Sylas, and Zane—brought him great joy, and he was immensely proud of his family. Paul also leaves behind his siblings Cindy Wolfel, Crystal (Terry) Wilcox, Laura (Jerry) Burgan, Paula (Phil) Alden, Bill (Christa) Prosser, and Jack (Kim) Prosser, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Paul was a devoted family man who cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren, often holding them with pride and love. He also enjoyed bonding with his siblings and was known for his easygoing nature and hearty laugh. An avid fisherman, he enjoyed quiet moments by the water, hums while eating, and appreciated the simple pleasures of life.
His family remembers him as a kind, hardworking, and generous individual who left a lasting impact on everyone he met. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Helen Prosser, his grandfather Bill “Spappy,” his brother Steve, and his nephew Jon Wilcox.
A private celebration of life will be held for family and close friends on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the family property located at 9330 Edison Drive, Galion, Ohio, beginning at 5:00 pm. The family invites those who knew Paul to join in honoring his memory during this gathering.
Paul Prosser’s legacy lives on through his family, his work, and the memories shared by those fortunate to have known him.
