Planes have struggled to land at airports across the UK as Storm Floris brings high winds, causing significant disruptions to air travel.

    What Happened

Footage showed a Ryanair Boeing 737-800 attempting to land at Leeds Bradford Airport on Monday (4 August), battling strong crosswinds. The aircraft was seen swaying in the air before finally touching down on the runway.

In addition to this, several flights were diverted as a result of the storm’s impact on flight operations. Notably, three aircraft – two British Airways flights from London Heathrow and one KLM flight from Amsterdam – attempted to land in Aberdeen but were forced to return to their departure airports due to the strong winds brought on by the storm.

    Ongoing Disruptions

The storm has caused widespread travel disruptions, particularly affecting airports and flights across the UK. Passengers are urged to stay updated on flight statuses and check for potential delays or diversions.

As Storm Floris continues to affect air travel, it’s important for travelers to stay informed and plan accordingly.
