    Shreveport, LA – Labriesha Patterson, a 28-year-old resident of Shreveport, Louisiana, was tragically killed in a drive-by shooting on August 18, 2025, marking the 24th homicide in Shreveport and the 29th in Caddo Parish for the year. The shocking event has left the local community reeling, and authorities are working quickly to seek justice.

    The fatal incident occurred just before 10:30 p.m. in the 1600 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive (MLK Drive). Patterson was driving northbound when a passing vehicle opened fire, hitting her multiple times. Despite efforts from emergency responders, Patterson was rushed to Ochsner LSU Health hospital and was pronounced dead at 11:07 p.m., just 37 minutes after the shooting.

    The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office confirmed Patterson’s identity and ordered an autopsy to determine the precise cause of death. Her untimely passing has left her family, friends, and the Shreveport community devastated.

Shreveport Police Chief Smith praised the efforts of the officers involved in the swift arrest of the suspects.
