The veteran community is mourning the loss of Combat Craig, known off-screen as Louie Baur, a passionate voice and trusted guide in the world of VA claims. Through his work online and in-person, Baur dedicated his life to empowering veterans with the knowledge and confidence to secure the benefits they deserved.

    Who Was Combat Craig

Born in 1968, Baur’s own journey through the complexities of the VA system inspired him to become a leading advocate for veterans. Under the name Combat Craig, he built a digital platform that reached thousands of veterans across the country, offering clear strategies, educational resources, and hard-earned wisdom. His popular videos, guides, and workshops provided not just information, but also hope.

A Lifestyle of Dedication and Service

Combat Craig’s lifestyle reflected a deep commitment to service, truth, and community. He transformed his personal struggles into a mission to help others avoid the same confusion and frustration he once faced. His message was always direct, empowering, and rooted in the belief that every veteran deserves clarity, respect, and results.

    Experience Over Titles

While Baur’s academic and professional background supported his mission, it was his lived experience and unwavering grit that gave him credibility. Veterans trusted his tough honesty, his warmth, and his practical strategies. He wasn’t just an educator—he was a mentor and a fighter who stood alongside the community he served.

    Legacy

Combat Craig’s life was tragically cut short in 2025 at the age of 57 due to complications related to a medical condition. Yet his legacy will continue to inspire. His work has left a lasting mark on the lives of countless veterans, empowering them to advocate for themselves and take control of their future.

He will be remembered not only as an advocate, but as a leader who turned hardship into purpose and built a movement of empowerment within the veteran community.

RIP Combat Craig (Louie Baur) 1968 – 2025
