LEXINGTON, N.C. (WGHP) — A man has been arrested following a deadly shooting at a concrete manufacturing facility in Lexington.
What Happened
On Wednesday evening, August 27, 2025, officers with the Lexington Police Department responded to Johnson Concrete, located at 514 Burgin Drive, after receiving reports of a shooting.
Inside one of the warehouses, officers found 21-year-old Omarion Scott, of Lexington, who had been shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Suspect in Custody
Police quickly identified Tyrese Edward Cheek, 21, of Lexington, as the suspect. He was arrested around 10 p.m. the same night.
Authorities confirmed Cheek is now facing murder charges in connection to the shooting.
Ongoing Investigation
Detectives continue to investigate the events leading up to the shooting. No motive has yet been released, and officials have not confirmed whether the victim and suspect knew each other.
The Lexington Police Department is asking anyone with information to come forward as the case develops.
