It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joshua Bell, a beloved son, brother, grandson, and friend whose life, though far too short, left a lasting impact on all who knew him. Born on March 25, 2006, in Winnipeg, Joshua grew up in a home filled with love, surrounded by a community that cherished his quiet strength, quick wit, and kind heart.

    What Happened

Joshua Bell tragically passed away on September 5, 2025, near Winnipeg, at the tender age of 19. His sudden passing has left his family, friends, and community in profound sorrow. Joshua was known for his adventurous spirit, dedication, and unwavering determination. He was a graduate of Institut collégial Vincent Massey Collegiate and had big plans for his future, but his journey was tragically cut short.

Joshua’s passions were many. He loved motorized vehicles, owning both a truck and a motorcycle, which he worked hard for and proudly invested in. His adventurous soul was also reflected in his love for outdoor activities, including football, underwater football, and countless camping trips. His thirst for exploration took him to numerous destinations, from the bustling streets of Italy to the serene beauty of Banff and Vancouver Island.

    Reactions

Joshua’s family and friends have shared stories of his generosity, kindness, and sense of humor. His parents, Jeff and Julie Bell, described him as a son who brought immeasurable joy to their lives. His sisters, Megan and Sarah, spoke of the deep bond they shared, and his grandparents, Keith Bell (Myrna), Nana Sandy Letandre, and Grandpa Paul Hogan, remember him as a shining light in their lives.

“He had a way of making everyone laugh, and his loyalty and kindness knew no bounds,” shared a close friend. “Joshua was the kind of person who would drop everything to help others, and he did so with such humility.”

His love for music was also a defining part of his character, with his violin playing bringing warmth to the hearts of those who heard it. Joshua’s legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to know him, from his heartfelt dedication to his passions to his radiant personality.

    What’s Next

A memorial service will be held on September 20, 2025, at Trinity Baptist Church, 549 Gertrude Ave, Winnipeg, at 2:00 PM, where family, friends, and community members are invited to celebrate his life and the joy he brought to all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the Bell family has requested donations be made to support them during this difficult time. Contributions can be made via their GoFundMe: Supporting the Bell Family in Memory of Josh Bell.

Joshua’s family encourages those who knew him to honor his memory by sharing stories, supporting one another, and living with the same joy and zest for life that he so deeply embodied.
