It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Meghan George, a talented athlete, dedicated teammate, and cherished member of the Mentor, Ohio community. Meghan, who played women’s basketball for the University of Buffalo Bulls from 2006 to 2010, was known for her passion for the game, leadership on and off the court, and the positive impact she made on everyone who knew her.

A Legacy Built on Basketball and Teamwork

During her time with the Bulls, Meghan became a standout player, known for her exceptional skill, determination, and sportsmanship. Her hard work and unwavering commitment to excellence made her a respected teammate and competitor. Meghan’s leadership extended beyond her playing abilities; she was a mentor to younger players, always ready to offer advice, encouragement, and a helping hand to those around her.

Her love for basketball went beyond just playing the game—it was about the relationships she built, the teamwork she fostered, and the lasting impression she left on everyone she encountered. Meghan inspired those around her not only through her athletic prowess but through her ability to lift others up and bring out the best in her team.

A Warm Heart and Generous Spirit

Off the court, Meghan was equally admired for her warmth, kindness, and sense of humor. She had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome, valued, and appreciated, both in her personal and professional life. Meghan’s friendships extended far beyond the basketball court, and she treasured time spent with her family and close friends.

Those who knew Meghan best will remember her for her generous heart, loyalty, and her unshakable support for others. Whether offering a listening ear or sharing a laugh, she was always there to provide comfort, encouragement, and a sense of belonging to those lucky enough to know her.

    A Heartbreaking Loss

Meghan’s sudden passing has left a profound void in the hearts of her family, friends, and former teammates. Her impact on the basketball community and the people around her will never be forgotten. Meghan’s legacy will live on in the lessons she imparted, the memories she created, and the love she shared with all who knew her.

    Honoring Meghan’s Memory

As we mourn this heartbreaking loss, we are also reminded of the spirit of teamwork, perseverance, and compassion that defined Meghan George’s life. Her example of leadership, dedication, and kindness will continue to inspire us all. Those wishing to honor her memory are encouraged to carry forward the values Meghan embodied both as an athlete and as a person—values that will forever be part of her legacy.

Meghan George will be deeply missed, but her light will continue to shine in the lives of all those she touched. Rest in peace, Meghan. Your impact on the world will never be forgotten.
