September 23, 2025 – Today marks the birthday of Peter Paul Apollo, who would have turned 51 years old. Peter’s life was tragically cut short on September 11, 2001, during the attacks on the World Trade Center, but his legacy and the impact he made on those around him continue to be cherished and remembered.

    What Happened

Peter was 26 years old when he was working on the 104th floor of the World Trade Center’s North Tower for Cantor Fitzgerald. On the morning of September 11, Flight 11 struck the building, and Peter, along with many others, tragically lost his life. Despite the unimaginable circumstances, Peter’s family and friends continue to celebrate his life, his passions, and the love he shared with those closest to him.

    Who Was Peter Paul Apollo

Peter was born on September 23, 1974, to Cecile and Peter Apollo. He had two sisters, Denise and Lisa, and lived in Hoboken, New Jersey. A graduate of Red Bank Catholic High School and the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Peter’s optimism and zest for life were evident in everything he did.

He was engaged to Debbie Johnson, and they were looking forward to their wedding in November 2001, a day that would never come. His family describes Peter as a caring, genuine, and happy person, with a love for life that included hobbies like fishing, golf, football, skiing, and spending time at the beach.

    Career/Legacy

Peter worked as a securities trader for Cantor Fitzgerald, where he had built strong friendships and a promising career. Known for his dedication, Peter had made a lasting impact on his colleagues, and he was preparing for a relocation to the firm’s Shrewsbury, NJ office.

His colleagues remember him as someone who was always motivated and intent on living life to the fullest. He was well-loved by his friends and coworkers alike, and his positive energy left a mark that still resonates with those who had the privilege of working with him.

    Public/Social Media Reactions

Since the tragic events of September 11th, Peter’s family, friends, and colleagues have kept his memory alive. His mother, Cecile, fondly recalls Peter as “having the time of his life” with his fiancée and his many loved ones. His friends remember him for his unwavering joy, and his legacy continues to inspire those who knew him.

In honor of Peter’s life, messages of remembrance flood social media every year, with tributes from his family, his fiancée, and the community. Today, as Peter would have celebrated his 51st birthday, those who loved him continue to cherish the time they shared with him and vow to never forget.

Official Statements or What Happens Next

Though Peter’s life was tragically cut short, his family and community vow to honor his memory. As a loving son, fiancé, brother, and friend, Peter’s legacy is one of love, optimism, and devotion to the people who mattered most. His life reminds us all to live fully, appreciate the little things, and never take our time with loved ones for granted.
