MISSING: 14-Year-Old Amy Reidling Vanishes from Decatur, Georgia — Family Fears Online Predation

Authorities are urgently seeking help to locate Amy Reidling, a 14-year-old girl who was last seen at her home on Janet Lane, Decatur, Georgia, on Sunday, September 21, 2025, around 2:00 PM. Her family is devastated and fears she may have been lured away by someone she met online.

    What Happened

Amy had just returned from shopping for her homecoming dress accessories and was excited about the upcoming event. However, when her stepmother, Ginny Rutledge, went to check on Amy that evening, she found her daughter’s room empty. “I opened the door, and she was gone. Tore the house apart… called 911 at 9:15 PM. No one’s messages have been read. Calls go straight to voicemail,” Ginny said, visibly distraught. Amy’s phone went dark, and her digital trail went cold. Her family believes that Amy didn’t leave on her own—that someone manipulated, coached, and possibly took her away.

Ginny is convinced that this was a planned abduction. “There’s a lot she doesn’t know… especially in a big city like Atlanta,” Ginny says. “I’m positive she was taken. This feels planned.” Amy’s family is now working with a private investigator, and volunteers are distributing flyers across the city, desperately hoping for any leads.

    Who is Amy Reidling?

Amy is described as a 14-year-old teen, 5’1″ tall, weighing 105 pounds, with brown hair and bangs, and brown eyes. Her disappearance has left her family heartbroken and terrified, as they fear she may have fallen prey to an online predator—a sadistic individual who could have groomed Amy, gaining her trust before luring her away.

    What Happens Next

The family believes Amy’s disappearance is more than just a runaway case—it’s a digital kidnapping. Amy’s parents are urging anyone with information, no matter how small, to come forward. “You don’t even understand how many people are here helping to find you,” Ginny Rutledge says in an emotional message to her daughter. “We love you. We miss you. You’re my girl. You’re my person. Please come back.” Ginny is asking for Amy to reach out and let her know she’s safe.

    Public and Social Media Reactions

The community and social media have rallied around the Reidling family, with strangers helping in the search and sharing flyers to raise awareness. The hashtag #FindAmyReidling is spreading across platforms as people try to amplify the message and bring attention to the growing concern of online predators targeting young teens.

Official Statements or What Happens Next

DeKalb County Police Department is actively investigating the case, and authorities are urging anyone with information to contact them immediately. This case is being treated as an abduction linked to online predation, and time is critical in ensuring Amy’s safe return.

If you have any information about Amy Reidling’s whereabouts or any details that could help in the investigation, please contact DeKalb County Police immediately.

Let’s share Amy’s face, her name, and this urgent message—together, we can help bring Amy home.
