White Fish Lake First Nation, Alberta — Joshua Francis Saulteaux, a 25-year-old man from White Fish Lake First Nation, vanished mysteriously shortly after winning $1 million on a scratch-and-win lottery ticket. His family and authorities are urgently searching for answers as the case remains unsolved.

    What Happened

On May 5, 2025, Joshua Saulteaux disappeared from his RV, which was parked outside a family member’s home near the south entrance of White Fish Lake First Nation, located 180 kilometers northeast of Edmonton. According to his uncle, Francis Morin, Joshua had been acting anxious in the days following his lottery win. His uncle recalled Joshua saying, “They’re coming for me.” When family members went to check on him that night, they discovered the RV empty with blood all over the inside.

    Who is Joshua Saulteaux?

Joshua Saulteaux is described by his family and friends as a kind, generous young man who enjoyed spending time with his family and helping others. He had recently purchased an RV, which he parked near his family member’s home. Despite the large sum of money he had won, Joshua seemed to grow increasingly worried in the days leading up to his disappearance, leaving loved ones concerned.

Joshua is 5’10” tall, weighs 190 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. His family and the community are deeply affected by his disappearance and continue to hope for his safe return.

    Search Efforts and Public Appeal

Goodfish Search and Rescue and RCMP have conducted extensive searches for Joshua, using ground crews, drones, and cadaver dogs, but despite hundreds of hours of searching, no trace of him has been found. The family continues to work alongside law enforcement to bring Joshua home.

Official Statements and What Happens Next

Authorities are asking anyone with information about Joshua’s whereabouts or the circumstances of his disappearance to come forward. Goodfish Lake RCMP can be reached at 780-645-8888, or information can be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
