Peel Region authorities have identified 29-year-old Savannah Kulla as the victim of a violent domestic-related incident that has left the community in deep shock. Savannah tragically passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025, after being shot in what investigators are calling a deliberate act of domestic violence. The primary suspect, 38-year-old Anthony Deschepper, remains at large, and authorities are urging the public to assist in locating him.

    What Happened

Peel Regional Police responded to reports of gunfire at a residence in Brampton shortly after 9:30 p.m. on October 20. Upon arrival, officers found Savannah Kulla suffering from critical gunshot wounds. Despite immediate lifesaving efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses in the area described hearing multiple shots followed by a vehicle speeding away. Shortly after the shooting, police issued an Amber Alert for a woman believed to have been abducted by Anthony Deschepper. That woman was later located safely, but Deschepper remains on the run, prompting a region-wide manhunt.

Authorities have confirmed that Savannah and the suspect were known to each other, and the crime is being treated as a domestic-related homicide. This tragic event has raised concerns about the growing issue of intimate partner violence in the region.

    Investigation and Manhunt

Peel Police have classified the incident as a domestic homicide and are working closely with local and provincial law enforcement agencies to locate Anthony Deschepper, who is considered armed and dangerous. Investigators have been canvassing the area, reviewing surveillance footage, and conducting forensic analysis at the crime scene.

Authorities are urging residents not to approach Deschepper if spotted and to immediately contact 911.

    Community Response and Tributes

Savannah’s friends and family have described her as a vibrant, kind-hearted, and loving person, whose life was tragically cut short. Social media posts have been flooded with condolences and heartfelt tributes from those who knew her.

A GoFundMe page has been launched to assist Savannah’s family with funeral arrangements and to raise awareness about domestic violence prevention.

    Broader Impact

Savannah’s death has sparked renewed calls for stronger measures to protect victims of domestic abuse. Community organizations and advocacy groups have expressed outrage and sorrow over the incident, urging more robust intervention programs and early support systems for those at risk.
