The New Mexico State Police (NMSP) Investigations Bureau is actively investigating a homicide that occurred at the Allsup’s convenience store in Milan, New Mexico, on October 21, 2025. The incident resulted in the death of 18-year-old Myron Sandoval and has led to the arrests of two individuals involved in the shooting.

    What Happened

The shooting occurred shortly after 10:00 p.m. on October 21, when a blue Nissan SUV, occupied by Myron Sandoval (18) and others, pulled into a fuel pump stall at the Allsup’s store located at 507 West Street. A white Chevrolet sedan, containing Adrian Murrietta (26) and Dominic Jaramillo (23), was parked at the opposite pump.

Surveillance footage and witness statements indicate that an exchange of hostile looks occurred between Sandoval and Murrietta, followed by confrontational gestures from Murrietta. As Sandoval and a companion walked towards the store, Murrietta approached them, leading to a confrontation. During the altercation, gunfire was exchanged between Sandoval and Jaramillo, who was standing at the passenger side of the white sedan.

Following the gunfire, Jaramillo and Murrietta fled the scene. Sandoval, who had sustained a gunshot wound, was assisted by emergency medical services (EMS) and transported to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

    Arrests and Charges

Adrian Murrietta was arrested by the NMSP Tactical Team on October 22, 2025, during a search warrant execution at a residence. He faces charges of:

    • Second Degree Murder (Accessory), a second-degree felony
    • Tampering with Evidence, a third-degree felony

Dominic Jaramillo turned himself in to NMSP agents on October 23, 2025, and was arrested. He faces charges of:

    • Second Degree Murder, a second-degree felony
    • Shooting at or from a Motor Vehicle, a second-degree felony
    • Tampering with Evidence, a third-degree felony

    Ongoing Investigation

The New Mexico State Police are continuing to investigate the case, and additional information may be released as the investigation progresses. Authorities are urging anyone with further information about the incident to come forward.

    Closing

This tragic event has deeply impacted the Milan community. As the investigation continues, both suspects remain in custody as authorities work to uncover further details about the incident.
