    It is with profound sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Thomas “Tadd” Brandt Lilly, Jr., who was killed in a senseless act of gun violence on October 26, 2025, in North Augusta, South Carolina. At just 33 years old, Tadd’s life was cut short, leaving his family, friends, and community in shock and sorrow.

    What Happened

    On the evening of October 26, 2025, Tadd Lilly was at a local gas station in North Augusta when he fell victim to a brutal shooting. Described as being in the wrong place at the wrong time, Tadd’s life was tragically taken, marking a senseless loss for those who knew him. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation by local authorities as they work to bring justice to his family.

    Who Was Tadd Lilly / Background of the Case

    Tadd Lilly, a 33-year-old father, brother, and friend, was known for his loyal, lovable nature and his ability to brighten any room with a smile. Loved by all who knew him, Tadd had a deep passion for music, particularly rap, and loved spending time with his son, Zachary “Thomas” Lilly, with whom he shared an incredibly close bond.

    In the months leading up to his death, Tadd had made significant strides in his personal life. Proudly celebrating six months of sobriety, he had turned his life around and was focused on building a brighter future. His family and friends admired his determination to improve and believed he was on the path to a better life.

    Legacy and Tribute

    Tadd’s legacy extends beyond his battles and accomplishments. He was a devoted father to his son Zachary, a loyal friend, and a loving partner to his fiancée Kristy Taylor. His memory lives on in the hearts of his brothers, Michael Blocker and Cameron Humphrey (Alison), his aunt Dana Turner (Bill), uncle Don Humphrey, aunt Rachel Guilfoyle, cousins, and many other extended family members and friends.

    Tadd’s family recalls his loving spirit and infectious smile, and they take comfort in knowing that he will always be remembered for the positive impact he had on everyone around him.

    Funeral Arrangements and Memorial Service

    A Celebration of Life service will be held for Tadd on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the University Parkway Church of God, located at 1761 University Parkway, Aiken, SC. The family will greet friends at 10:30 AM prior to the service. Pastor Henry Shaffer will officiate the ceremony, which will provide an opportunity for family, friends, and community members to reflect on Tadd’s life and legacy.
