KINGSPORT, TN — The Kingsport Police Department has reported the arrest of two suspects in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred early on the morning of Monday, November 10, 2025, on Sky South Road. The victim, identified as Johnathon Reed, was 37 years old and was pronounced dead at the scene.

What Happened: Fatal Shooting and Investigation

At approximately 12:00 a.m., patrol officers responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting gunfire and a man found on the ground in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered Reed with fatal gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to revive him, Reed was declared dead on-site.

The Kingsport Police Department quickly initiated a homicide investigation, with detectives and crime scene specialists working to gather evidence and establish the circumstances surrounding Reed’s death. Throughout the investigation, Krysten Atkins, 22, and Tyler Holly, 33, were identified as individuals of interest in the case.

    Arrests and Charges

Later in the day, around 5:00 p.m., Atkins and Holly were located on Garden Drive. After interviews and the collection of additional evidence, Atkins was charged with First-Degree Murder, and Holly was charged as an Accessory After the Fact to First-Degree Murder.

Both suspects were taken into custody without incident. Atkins was transported to the Sullivan County Jail in Blountville, while Holly is currently being held at the Kingsport City Jail.

Community Support and Law Enforcement Response

The Kingsport Police Department expressed gratitude to the community for its assistance in locating the suspects. “The quick resolution of this case was achievable through thorough investigative efforts and the collaboration of our community,” said a spokesperson from the department. “We are thankful to everyone who stepped forward with information.”
