Christa is survived by her parents, Rick and Heather Veldkamp, siblings Kelly and Marc Schra and Eric Veldkamp, as well as nephews Rowan, Ezra, and Cole Schra. She also leaves behind a broad circle of extended family, including the Mennega, Veldkamp, and Gun Lake families, alongside numerous close friends. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Joan Mennega, grandparents Harry and Vivian Veldkamp, and cousin Amy DeKock.

Known for her vibrant personality, Christa lived life fully, engaging in outdoor activities such as water skiing, snow skiing, hiking, golfing, mountain biking, and rock climbing. She treasured time with her family, especially her nephews, and was celebrated for her empathy, kindness, and generosity toward everyone she met.

    Career and Legacy

Christa devoted her professional life to helping others as a Speech and Language Pathologist at The Center for Physical Rehabilitation, where she primarily worked with children. Her expertise, patience, and authentic care left a lasting impression on her patients, students, and colleagues. Through her work, Christa positively impacted countless lives, leaving a legacy of dedication, compassion, and skill in the field of speech and language therapy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be directed to Winning at Home, an organization dedicated to supporting mental health and family well-being.

Christa’s family shared a message encouraging anyone facing mental health challenges to seek professional help and rely on the support of loved ones. “Although we may not grasp the full extent of Christa’s struggle, we choose to cling to the hope provided to us in Jesus Christ and the certainty that we will see her again in heaven,” they stated.
