    DELMAR, Del. — November 13, 2025 — The Delmar, Delaware community is mourning the untimely passing of Jeremy Mitchell, 30, of Georgetown, who tragically lost his life in a single-vehicle accident on Sussex Highway. What began as a routine drive ended in heartbreak, leaving family, friends, and neighbors grappling with profound grief.

    According to the Delaware State Police, the crash occurred around 5:12 p.m. on November 13 when Jeremy Mitchell was driving north on Sussex Highway in a GMC Sierra, heading toward West Snake Road. For reasons still under investigation, his vehicle left the northbound lane, crossed the grassy median into the southbound lanes, and ultimately collided with a tree. Emergency responders arrived promptly, but Jeremy was declared deceased at the scene.

    The accident forced authorities to close part of Sussex Highway for nearly four hours as the Collision Reconstruction Unit of DSP Troop 7 worked to document the scene, collect evidence, and reconstruct the events leading to the crash.
