Ceresco, Nebraska — Two Dead After Tragic Accident on Hwy 77
On November 23, 2025, a two-vehicle collision claimed the lives of two individuals on Highway 77 near County Road A in Ceresco, Nebraska. The accident involved a motorcycle and a pickup truck, and resulted in the tragic death of both the motorcyclist and passenger.

    What Happened

At approximately 1:07 PM, the Saunders County 911 center received an emergency call regarding the crash at the intersection of Highway 77 and County Road A. According to initial reports from the Saunders County Sheriff’s Office, a 2008 Honda GL1800 trike motorcycle, driven by 65-year-old Daniel Gaunt of St. Edward, Nebraska, was traveling northbound on Highway 77 with his passenger, 60-year-old Helen Rosso, also from St. Edward.

The motorcycle was struck when a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, driven by 73-year-old Michael Tasler of Gretna, Nebraska, crossed in front of the motorcycle while traveling eastbound at County Road A. The collision occurred on the front passenger side of the truck, leading to a catastrophic crash.

Despite the immediate response from emergency personnel, both Daniel Gaunt and Helen Rosso were declared dead at the scene. Both were wearing helmets, and there was no indication of alcohol involvement by either driver, according to law enforcement.

The incident remains under investigation by the Saunders County Sheriff’s Office and Nebraska State Patrol. As of now, no charges have been filed, and authorities are working to understand the circumstances that led to the collision. Police have stated that while the crash is still under investigation, alcohol is not believed to be a factor.

Ceresco Fire and Rescue, Wahoo Fire and Rescue, Wahoo Police Department, and Nebraska State Patrol assisted on the scene. Investigators continue to review evidence and assess the factors involved in the crash, including road conditions and visibility at the intersection.
