The mother of a missing North Carolina girl is now a suspect in her November 2022 disappearance, police announced on Tuesday.
Madalina Cojocari, who was 11 years old then, was last seen getting off a school bus at 4:59 p.m. on November 21, 2022.
In a statement on Facebook, the Cornelius Police said, “Madalina’s mother, Diana Cojocari, is considered a suspect in her disappearance. We want to #FindMadalina. This has been our priority since we learned she was missing.”
In May, Diana Cojocari pleaded guilty to a criminal charge of failing to report a missing child. She did not inform law enforcement that Madalina was missing until December 15, 2022. Cojocari admitted to police that she had not seen her daughter since November 23, 2022.
The case remains under investigation, and authorities continue to urge anyone with information to come forward. The community’s support is crucial as they work to uncover the truth about Madalina’s disappearance and ensure her safe return.
