Andrew Niedzwicki Death, Obituary, Bicycle Accident – A tragic accident claimed the life of a 65-year-old bicyclist, Andrew Niedzwicki, on the morning of Tuesday, September 17, in the Township of Worden, just south of Thorp, Wisconsin. According to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred around 8:46 a.m. on County Highway N (CTH N) near Dickerson Avenue.
Initial reports indicate that a semi-tractor trailer driven by 63-year-old Richard Wnek was traveling eastbound on CTH N when it collided with Niedzwicki, who was also heading east on his bicycle. Niedzwicki was riding near the south shoulder of the road when Wnek’s passing semi made contact with him, throwing the cyclist into the shoulder of the roadway.
Wnek immediately pulled over and reported the crash. Emergency services, including the Thorp Area Ambulance Service, arrived at the scene and transported Niedzwicki to Stanley Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead due to the severity of his injuries. The incident prompted a coordinated response from local agencies, including the Thorp Area Fire Department, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, the Wisconsin State Patrol, the Clark County Highway Department, and Clark County Coroner Clarissa Rochester.
