The family of Dalelynn Butts announces her departure at 3:08 a.m. following a valiant fight with cancer, and does so with tremendous grief. Now that Dalelynn has her angel wings, she is at peace and in heaven with Jesus. Everyone who knew her has an unfillable hole in their hearts as a result of her absence.
As a child, Dalelynn was the adored younger sister who went everywhere with her sibling and created innumerable treasured memories. They became lifelong friends over the years, and talking back with those pals about the “good old days” has become a comfort at this trying time. As a friend who would respond to an assistance request at any time, a sister who could be trusted with any secret, and a person who would always stand by her loved ones, Dalelynn was well-known for her kindness and loyalty.
Destiny Holguin, Dalelynn’s daughter, was arguably her greatest source of pride and happiness. Being a single mother, she accepted her responsibilities as a mother and a father and did everything within her ability to make sure Destiny was content, loved, and taken care of. She genuinely lived for Destiny, showing her daughter an unrivaled level of love and devotion. In addition, Dalelynn was a devoted and kind aunt who had a great affection for her nieces and nephews.
It was unexpected and sudden—only one month after her diagnosis—that Dalelynn passed away. She battled valiantly against all the odds, and her family finds comfort in the knowledge that she is no longer in pain. Her sister was by her side day and night during her last days, and they were filled with love.
We will always remember Dalelynn for her bravery, her selflessness, and the deep influence she made on the people who were lucky enough to know her. Please keep the family in your prayers during this difficult time.
