Granby High School Lockdown; Due to the possibility of a shooting or bomb threat of some type, students at Granby Memorial High School and Middle School were placed in lockdown mode for a brief period of time on Tuesday, near the end of the school day. This was done in order to protect the students from any potential danger.
Granby police were doing a sweep of the high school campus when they emailed a warning to parents at roughly two o’clock in the afternoon. The notice informed them that “buses will be late” and “pickups delayed,” but they were strongly recommended not to visit their children’s schools because of the situation.
It was approximately 3:15 p.m. when a notice was delivered claiming that the “lockdown has been lifted.” There was no evidence of a credible threat found. The discharge of students and the continuation of activities that take place after school as regularly scheduled.
