Daryll Moss Death; On the evening of Saturday, a guy from Covington was killed when he walked out in front of a vehicle on Highway 212.
Based on the information provided by the Newton County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO), Daryll Moss, who was 58 years old, was operating a Cadillac Escalade while travelling southbound on Highway 212. At that moment, Moss parked his vehicle on the shoulder of the road and got out of the vehicle. However, according to the report, the vehicle “ran directly into the path of a northbound vehicle.”
A death certificate was issued for Moss at the scene.
It was reported by the driver of the vehicle travelling in the northbound direction, who wished to remain anonymous, that Moss “suddenly ran in front of the vehicle,” which resulted in the event being unavoidable.
At this point, the driver of the vehicle travelling in the northbound direction has not been charged.
“During this difficult time, Sheriff Ezell Brown and the North Carolina State Police would like to extend their condolences to the family of Mr. Moss,” the North Carolina State Police said in a news release
