A Halloween party in Akron, Ohio, on Saturday, October 26, 2024, ended tragically when Lashae Ellis, an 18-year-old woman, was shot and killed.
As law enforcement scrambles to put together the complex details of the tragedy, the neighborhood is shocked and desperate for answers following the shooting, which occurred in the peaceful area of Canton Road.
A 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl were among the other youngsters hurt by the gunfire in addition to Ellis. Despite the fact that their injuries are not life-threatening, the tragedy has shocked neighbors and raised awareness of Akron’s youth violence.
How the incident happened.
Friends and neighbors met at a home in the 1400 block of Canton Road to celebrate Halloween. Gunfire broke out at 10:45 p.m., marring the night of revelry.
