Lewis Stevenson Obituary, Death; – A man who fell from a bridge measuring 192 meters (630 feet) in height in Spain while producing content for social media has succumbed to head injuries, as revealed during an inquest. Lewis Stevenson, a resident of West Hallam in Derbyshire, fell from the Castilla La Mancha bridge, located near the city of Talavera de la Reina, on October 13.
The Derby Coroner’s Court determined that the 26-year-old’s death was caused by blunt force trauma to the head and an uncontrolled fall from a significant height. The inquest, led by assistant coroner Sabyta Kaushal, was opened and subsequently adjourned on Tuesday.
The court was informed that Mr. Stevenson was a graphic and print designer originally from Derby. His mother, Keilia Stevenson, was present to identify his body. “Tragic and unfortunate” Miss Kaushal remarked, “The inquest will now be postponed to allow for further investigations to be completed.”
A statement from Macarena Muñoz, a councillor on the Talavera council, indicated that Mr. Stevenson and a 24-year-old companion, who was with him at the time of the fall, had traveled to Talavera with the intention of climbing the bridge to create content for social media.
She characterized the incident as an “unfortunate and sad outcome,” emphasizing that climbing the bridge is “totally prohibited” and that this warning has been reiterated on numerous occasions.
