Kevin Winters, a dedicated New York Police Department (NYPD) detective from Farmingdale, New York, tragically passed away, leaving behind a legacy of selflessness, courage, and love. He was much more than a law enforcement officer—Kevin was a loving husband, devoted father, caring son, and cherished teammate.
Over the course of his 13-year career with the NYPD, he gave his time, energy, and heart to serving the people of New York City, often putting the needs of others before his own. Most recently assigned to the 105th Detective Squad, Kevin’s commitment to the city was unwavering. He worked tirelessly to protect those he served, even if it meant sacrificing precious time away from his family.
For Kevin, his job was more than just a career; it was a calling. His colleagues remember him not only for his professionalism but for his deep sense of duty and his camaraderie with others in the force. Kevin was a proud member of the NYPD Lacrosse Team, and through that connection, many saw his passion for teamwork and leadership.
Outside of his service to the NYPD, Kevin had a variety of personal interests, including his love for Notre Dame football, Batman, and the New York Rangers. But despite these passions, it was his family that mattered most to him. Kevin’s wife Jenn, and his two young daughters, Harper and Peyton, were the center of his world. He cherished every moment with them and worked tirelessly to provide for their future.
Kevin Winters will forever be remembered as a hero—not just for his years of service to the NYPD, but for the way he lived his life with love, integrity, and honor. His legacy is one of bravery and commitment, both on and off the job, and his memory will continue to inspire all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
