Tragedy struck the Shahbad Dairy area near Delhi Technical University (DTU) as two young men died under suspicious circumstances after falling from the fourth floor of a paying guest (PG) building.
The deceased, Eshan, an engineering student at DTU, and Harsh Verma, a student of Parshuram College, dies in what officials are describing as a baffling and devastating incident.
According to initial reports, the two students were sitting on a bed near an open window in their fourth-floor room. “They were talking when they reportedly fell from the window,” said an official investigating the case.
The loud sound of their fall, followed by screams, startled neighbors, who rushed out to discover the young men lying motionless in a pool of blood. Emergency services and police were quickly alerted, and the victims were rushed to a nearby hospital.
Tragically, one youth was declared dead on arrival, while the other succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The police have initiated a thorough investigation, exploring all possibilities, including an accidental fall, a scuffle, or potential foul play.
“This is a heartbreaking incident, and our investigation is focused on uncovering the exact circumstances surrounding the deaths,” a police spokesperson stated. Residents of the PG facility are being questioned to determine whether there were any altercations, unusual behavior, or prior indications of danger.
