Edwin Lebron Obituary, Death; – A man who was fatally struck by a freight train in northwest Indiana on Monday afternoon has been identified.
Edwin Lebron, 65, from East Chicago, was declared dead at the scene, according to the East Chicago police. Authorities were alerted to the incident at approximately 3:10 p.m. at the CSX Railroad Crossing located at 4600 Euclid Ave. Upon arrival, officers discovered a green Toyota Corolla that had sustained significant damage to the driver’s side, situated about 150 feet east of the railroad crossing.
Investigations revealed that Lebron was traveling north on Euclid when he disregarded the lowered crossing gates, resulting in the collision with the train. The crew of the train reported no injuries. The East Chicago Police Department’s Traffic Division is currently conducting an investigation.
