Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy shared the heartbreaking news on Tuesday, honoring Stanko’s memory with a heartfelt tribute.
Portnoy described Stanko as a beloved figure during his nearly four years at Barstool’s New York offices—a distinction Portnoy admitted is “very rare at Barstool.” Stanko joined the company in 2021 as a production technician, quickly earning the admiration and respect of his colleagues.

Despite these challenges, Stanko displayed incredible resilience and joy, marrying his longtime partner in a special ceremony following his diagnosis.
