James Thibodeau Death, Obituary – James Robert “Jim” Thibodeau, aged 28, of Clarkston, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. A brilliant young man with a zest for life, Jim leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and passion for the things he enjoyed most.
Jim was born to Robert and Karen Thibodeau and was the proud brother to Mikayla, Thomas, Kateri, Joe, Kathleen, and Tim. His family, including his beloved grandparents, Ruth Ann Thibodeau and Jim and Kathleen Taube, were central to his life. Jim shared an especially close relationship with his sister Mikayla and her husband James Smith. The bond they shared was a testament to the love that flourished in the Thibodeau household.
A graduate of Everest Collegiate High School & Academy in 2015, Jim continued his education at Oakland University, where he earned a degree in mechanical engineering. His academic success was matched by his passion for extracurricular activities. Whether he was playing ice hockey, soccer, or basketball, Jim loved being active and enjoyed the camaraderie that sports brought. He was also an avid disc golfer, often spending time outdoors with friends.
Jim’s love for family extended to the kitchen, where he was known for his culinary talents. He enjoyed cooking and baking, often preparing meals that became family favorites. His ability to connect with others over shared meals was just one of the many ways Jim made a positive impact on the lives of those around him.
Jim’s family and friends will gather to honor his memory during a visitation at Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home in Clarkston on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm, following a Rosary at 5:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 12:00 pm at St. Daniel Catholic Church, with visitation beginning at 11:30 am.
In memory of Jim’s generous spirit, memorial contributions can be made to the Everest Collegiate High School & Academy, the Transplant Life Foundation, or University Christian Outreach to support the “James and Makayla” missionary work.
