Gladys Anthony Obituary, Death; – A deaf woman from Missouri has tragically passed away following an attack by her neighbor’s dogs.
Gladys Anthony, a resident of St. Louis, succumbed to her injuries during surgery at a local hospital after the incident took place in the Walnut Park West neighborhood on the north side of the city. Her husband, aged 73, who was mentioned in a report by KSDK-TV but not named, attempted to protect her from the dogs and sustained injuries himself, although he survived the ordeal.
According to additional reports, Anthony had allowed her dog outside when she observed three dogs surrounding it. Upon her intervention, she was attacked. A report from USA Today states that her husband attempted to separate the dogs using a broom after firing a gun into the air in an effort to scare them away, but these actions proved ineffective. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police arrived at the scene and ultimately used pepper spray on the dogs, which then fled to a neighboring residence.
A press release from the SLMPD noted, “Officers entered the yard and located the 62-year-old woman who was barely conscious and heavily bleeding. Officers were able to pull the woman inside her home where they rendered aid and applied tourniquets until EMS arrived.”
Emergency medical services transported her to the hospital for further treatment. The 73-year-old man suffered multiple bites on his arms and legs but chose to seek medical attention at a later time.
In response to this tragedy, Anthony’s niece, Vrene Green, has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to support the family. The fundraising goal is set at $5,000, and as of now, the campaign has garnered 99 donations, totaling $4,445.
