Julie Ochoa Obituary, Death; – The California Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into a fatal single-vehicle accident that occurred in San Benito County.
As reported by the CHP, the incident took place at approximately 5:03 p.m. when the vehicle lost control while heading east on San Justo Road, just east of San Juan Highway. The car crossed into oncoming traffic, left the roadway, and subsequently overturned in a dirt field.
The front-rear passenger tragically lost their life in the incident. The driver and the left-rear passenger were airlifted to a nearby hospital with suspected serious injuries. The deceased has been identified as 18-year-old Julie Ochoa from Merced, according to the San Benito County Sheriff’s Office.
The CHP has stated that it remains unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident. “We extend our condolences to those affected by this tragic event,” remarked Area Commander, Captain Noel Coady. “Driving is a privilege and comes with the responsibility of obeying traffic laws. There are significant consequences when laws are ignored. This loss of life was avoidable.
