Emily Isabella Eirinberg Obituary, Death;- Sioux Falls Police are conducting an investigation following the discovery of a woman’s body in a vehicle on Monday evening. At approximately 7 p.m., officers responded to a call from the south side of the Empire Mall, located near 49th Street. The call originated from an individual at the mall who reported that a friend had admitted to murdering his girlfriend. Upon their arrival, law enforcement officials located a deceased female in the rear of the vehicle.
Both the reporting individual and the suspect were present at the scene. The suspect, identified as 24-year-old Tyson Andrew Christians, was taken into custody without incident. The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Emily Isabella Eirinberg, a resident of Sioux Falls, who was found to have sustained multiple stab wounds. Authorities indicated that Tyson and Emily had been in a relationship for a significant period.
An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday morning, and the vehicle in which the victim was discovered is currently undergoing forensic examination. Lieutenant Aaron Nyberg of the Sioux Falls Police Department stated that he does not believe the murder occurred at the mall, although he could not specify the exact location. Investigators suspect that the incident took place within Minnehaha County, and search warrants are being executed to refine the crime scene.
Emily was last seen alive when she departed from work around noon on Monday. Tyson is currently being held at the Minnehaha County Jail on charges of aggravated assault and domestic violence, with further charges related to the homicide anticipated as the investigation continues.
