The Jacksonville Police Department (JPD) reports that a traffic accident near the intersection of Myrtle Drive and Sam Boles Road late Thursday night resulted in the shooting death of a 33-year-old male.
When police arrived on the site at around 11:52 p.m., they found that Angel Balderas, the driver of the vehicle, had been shooting himself once.
Although no charges have been brought against the gunman as of yet, police stated that he was taken into custody and interrogated at the Jacksonville Police Department.
Officials did not provide details regarding the circumstances that led to the shooting or the decision not to pursue charges.
Law enforcement stated that the case remains under active investigation, and no further details will be released at this time.
