According to authorities, a stalker arrived to a woman’s Pensacola, Florida, place of employment on Monday morning and started striking her.
However, authorities also stated that the victim, who was carrying a gun, shot the man once in the leg in self-defence.
Marquise James, 35, was taken into custody in relation to the incident that occurred at the Downtown Pensacola Holiday Inn around 11:30 a.m.
James was charged with stalking, violence, smuggling contraband, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, resisting an officer, and simple assault on Friday morning, according to records. The amount of his bond is $26,500.
Pensacola Police Officer Mike Wood told WEAR that the stalking “has been going on for quite some time” and that “this male individual has been … using social media, using phones” to do so.
