    In Loving Memory of Thomas L. Triplett, 87, of Newcomerstown

    It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Thomas L. Triplett, 87, of Newcomerstown, who passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. Born on October 7, 1937, in Belmont County, to the late Melvin Lewis Triplett and Grace (Butler) Triplett, Tom lived a full and hardworking life that touched many in his community.

    What Happened

    Tom was a man of many accomplishments, starting his career at Goshen Dairy before moving on to General Tire, where he worked for 32 years before retiring. His tireless work ethic carried over into his personal life, where he also ran a roofing and spouting business and drove school buses for several years. Tom was a true example of hard work, dedication, and service to his community.

    Who Was Thomas L. Triplett?

    Known for his kindness and generosity, Tom was actively involved in various local organizations. He was a member of the Elks BPO Lodge 1555, American Legion Post 431, and the Moose Lodge 1337, all in Newcomerstown. He also volunteered with several local fire departments, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.

    Tom was an active father, coaching baseball for his children and supporting them in sports and music. He went above and beyond to raise money for the band and sports teams by riding his bicycle from Cedar Point to Cy Young Park. His dedication to his children was unwavering, and his love for them was evident in everything he did.

    Background or Timeline

    In his personal life, Tom enjoyed the simple pleasures of fishing, deer hunting, and farming. He loved spending time on his back porch, which he considered his safe haven. His involvement in the local community and his genuine care for others made him a cherished figure in Newcomerstown.

    Tom’s passing is deeply mourned by his family and community. His legacy of love, service, and hard work will continue to inspire those who knew him. His family is comforted by the many memories of his kindness, strength, and dedication.

    Family and Legacy

    Tom is survived by his children Ricky Triplett (companion Angie Guthrie) of West Lafayette, Cheryl (Randy) Bartholow of Newcomerstown, Robert Triplett (companion Marilyn Roe) of Newcomerstown, and Jerry (Mary) Triplett of Pickerington. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Steve Butler, Marteina Triplett, and Brandon (Gaby) Bartholow; great-grandchildren, Blair, Drake, and Harper Butler, Hailie and Carter Triplett, Amia and Phoenix Celeschi; and great-great-grandchildren, Feyre Kron and Callan Bartholow.

    He was preceded in death by his daughter Cindy Sue Belt; granddaughter Tiffani Celeschi; and his siblings Armond Triplett, Paul (Edith) Triplett, Dorothy Rine, Fredrick, Jerry, Ernie, and Catherine Triplett.

    Service Information

    A funeral service for Tom will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the Addy Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Friday from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Addy Funeral Home.

    Tom will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those who knew him. His legacy of service, generosity, and love for his family will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him.

     

    Rest in peace, Tom. You were a true light in the lives of many.
