It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of Michael (Mike) O’Sullivan of Gearhies, Bantry, Cork, who unexpectedly left us on August 26th, 2025. Mike was a beloved son, father, partner, brother, uncle, and a cherished member of his community. His loss leaves a significant void in the hearts of all who knew him.

Mike was the beloved son of Mary (née O’Sullivan) and the late Thomas (Big Tom) O’Sullivan. He was a devoted father to Traoloch, Zoe, and Glen, and a loving partner and best friend to Adrienne. His warmth, kindness, and genuine spirit touched everyone he met. Mike’s family was his greatest pride, and he always prioritized their happiness and well-being.
He was also a caring brother, survived by siblings John, Mags, Julie, Rose, Eily, Tom, Connie, Bridge, Danny, and Paddy. His extended family included cherished uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces, all of whom hold his memory dearly. Mike was known for his friendly nature, his generosity, and his unwavering support for his loved ones. His presence in the community was a source of comfort and strength.
Visitation and Funeral Details
A Requiem Mass to honor Mike’s life will be held at St. Finbarr’s Church, Bantry, on Saturday, August 30th, at 12 noon. The service will be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person. Following the Mass, burial will take place in the Abbey Cemetery, Bantry. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at Coakley’s Funeral Home, Chapel Street, Bantry, on Friday, August 29th, from 6 pm to 8 pm, with vigil prayers at 8 pm.
