The community of Basehor, KS, is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Evan Murkin, a beloved son, friend, and neighbor whose kind heart, generous spirit, and joyful presence left a lasting impression on everyone who had the honor of knowing him.
Evan passed away unexpectedly, and his absence is deeply felt by all who loved him. His legacy, however, is one of love, laughter, and light. Evan was known for his vibrant personality, his willingness to help others without hesitation, and his ability to bring people together. Whether he was sharing a joke, offering a listening ear, or simply being present in the lives of those around him, Evan made a difference in ways that words can scarcely capture.
To honor and celebrate his life, we will be holding a Celebration of Life on September 28th. While final details are still being arranged, we invite all who knew Evan to join us as we gather to remember him the way he would want—by telling stories, laughing, crying, and cherishing the moments we shared with him. This will be a time to come together not only to mourn, but to reflect on the joy he brought into the world.

Though he is no longer with us in person, Evan’s spirit lives on in our hearts, in our memories, and in the love we continue to share because of him.
