POLK COUNTY, FL — A tragic crash on Sunday evening left three people dead, with a 6-year-old girl as the sole survivor. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the driver, a 60-year-old man, and two passengers, an 83-year-old woman and a 60-year-old woman, were all killed in the accident on I-4.

    What Happened

The incident occurred Sunday evening when the driver lost control of the SUV while traveling eastbound on I-4 in Polk County. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the vehicle veered onto the south shoulder of the highway before striking a tree. The SUV continued traveling up an embankment toward State Road 570, hitting a guardrail and vaulting over the eastbound lanes. The vehicle eventually came to a stop after striking another tree and overturning.

    Victims and Survivor

The three victims were all from Tampa, Florida, and tragically lost their lives in the crash. The 6-year-old girl, who survived the incident, was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for minor injuries. Authorities have not released further details about the child’s identity or condition.

    What Happens Next

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and no further information has been released by the Florida Highway Patrol at this time.
